Have you seen this circulating the web? More proof that Obamacare is a SCAM! I thought they called this the “affordable” healthcare act? To who exactly is this affordable? They’ve set the nation up on socialized healthcare. If you can’t afford insurance, I feel bad for you, truly. But to get it “affordable” to others by billing it to the ones who are already at their debt limit is absurd! This is by no means affordable, Obamacare is aimed at breaking middle America! Why are states spending millions of taxpayer dollars to get as little as 4 people signed up on this atrocity?

Have you been on the exchanges? DONT GO. It is nothing more than a phishing scam to take down your information so that they know who to go after for more taxes when they see that you couldn’t afford absurdity.

This example is posted to Imgur, entitled “Dear Libertarians, you were right, just received this in the mail from Humana.”

This letter is one of literally MILLIONS that are being sent out to the insured right now. Just how much more of this crap do they think the American people are going to put up with? The best part is the blind followers who still believe our “elected” officials make decisions in the best interest of the people. Time to wake up the sheep before it’s time to sheer…

Prepare for fracking, UK minister tells Southern England

Households right across the south of England should prepare for gas fracking in their backyards, a senior government minster warned. He also said the government would be cutting back on the number of wind farms built in the future.

Michael Fallon said that a study by the water industry, due to be  released in a few weeks, will conclude that fracking is safe.

Fallon, a conservative minister, who has posts in the business  and energy departments, which might be why he knows the results  of the study by the water industry before they have been  officially published, said that Britain could emulate US states  like Texas, in the extraction of shale gas.

Counties in the Conservative heartlands of southern England, such  as Wiltshire, surrey, Hampshire, Sussex and Kent could become  major centers for fracking, he told the Telegraph.

Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing, is a controversial method of  extracting small pockets of gas trapped in rock by pumping in  pressurized water and a toxic mix of chemicals. Supporters say it  produces large amounts of cheap energy but critics say it’s  dangerous, can pollute the water table and cause other  environmental damage and earth tremors.

Water UK, which represents Britain’s water companies, was  concerned about the pollution effects of fracking and began a  study into its safety earlier this year. However, Fallon said  that it will conclude that there is no risk of contaminating  water supplies though fracking.

The report by the water companies will be seen as part of the  wider government drive to dispel fears about shale gas.

For their part energy companies involved in fracking have  promised one-off payments of £100,000 when an exploratory well is  drilled and 1% of revenues to be handed over to local communities  should drilling be successful .

But it is the environmental  fears that led to a  determined protest at Balcomb in West Sussex earlier this year,  where local residents joined with hardcore activists to protest a  proposed shale gas site being  tested for its  commercial  viability by energy giant Cuadrilla.

Until now fracking in the UK has been focused in the north of  England but next year the British Geological Survey will publish  a map of southern England in which it will identify areas rich in  shale gas.

Fallon added that he had discussed the lucrative benefits of  fracking with the governor of Texas, Rick Perry, and admitted  that while the US state had little in common with the densely  populated Home Counties of England, Fracking could still bring  the UK many benefits.

“He was telling me about the number of new businesses that  shale had brought to Texas – technology companies, energy  companies, lots of new jobs,” he said.

In October a report emerged in the US that hydraulic fracturing  produced 280 billion gallons of toxic waste last year in the  country much of it containing cancer causing radioactive  substances. While a single well can produce between two and nine  million gallons of waste water combined with sand and chemicals.

While a UK study also in October found that although fracking  presented a low risk to public health, it also found that the  risk was only low if there was no operational failure and the  wells were constructed and maintained properly.

There were 250 protests across 26 countries on the 19 October  against fracking organized by Global Frackdown.

Gas versus wind

In other comments, Fallon said that he would block planning  permission for wind farms – which have also proved controversial  and unpopular with local residents – and said that only one in  three farms is being  approved by the government  following a tightening up of planning restrictions.

However, many wind farms, both on and off shore, have already  been built and while unsightly do not cause any environmental  damage.

Wind farms have also been branded as uneconomical and of  generating subsidies worth up to £900 million for Britain’s ‘big  six’ energy companies.

Wind farms, say their opponents, are also only capable of  providing intermittent electricity and on days when there is no  wind old style fossil fuel power stations are still needed to  make up the shortfall.

An analysis of the industry’s figures published last month showed  the government subsidy for building wind farms is worth £200  million more than the income energy companies get from the  electricity they actually produce.

This figure will be further compounded by the above-inflation  increases in energy bills, which have been blamed on green levies  such as wind farm subsidies. At the beginning of October Scottish  and Southern Energy (SSE) announced an 8.2% rise in domestic fuel  bills, with other companies expected to announce similar price  hikes.

How’d you like to own a company that charges its clients $10,000 per hour for “financial advice”? Kind of sounds like  the Mafia offering “protection,” doesn’t it? You know what they say: “If it  walks like a duck…”

The 2400 page “Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act” is  written in such mumbo jumbo that banks need a “financial expert” to help them  navigate it. Enter Promontory Financial Group. How does Promontory Financial  Group know so much about the Dodd-Frank Act? They wrote it—giving  themselves carte blanche to extort a staggering $2 billion by offering banks “financial advice”—financial  advice, according to the banks, that didn’t do them a bit of good. Obama’s crony  and mega-donor Eugene Ludwig, the CEO of Promontory, pulls in a staggering $30,000,000 per year in salary. Talk about “fat cats,” as  Obama likes to call them. It’s in effect a Mafia “protection” racket, perfected  by Al Capone himself.

But it doesn’t end there. Eric Holder’s old law firm—the law firm who  supplied literally every single slot of the upper echelon in the Department of  Justice (or should we say Department of  Injustice)—is also in on  the scam, protecting Promontory Financial Group’s staffers from using insider  knowledge. You see, a staggering two-thirds of Promontory Financial Group’s 170 executives are former U.S.  government finance chiefs—the FDIC, SEC, and of course the Federal Reserve; and  they use their insider knowledge to extort billions from anything and  everything—not just banks.

If you take a look at how Al Capone in the 1930s took over the banks,  businesses, and the levers of power in government, you’d have a complete picture  of what Barack Hussein Obama is doing from the Oval Office.

Barack Obama is truly a modern day Mob Boss.

Thieves Charged With Cutting Off Marijuana Dispensary Owner’s Penis

November 8, 2013

new-jersey-medical-marijuana-kids_siNEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) – Four people were charged with kidnapping a California marijuana dispensary owner, torturing him with a blowtorch and cutting off his penis during a robbery because they thought he was burying piles of cash in the desert, authorities said Friday.

Ryan Anthony Kevorkian, 34, and Naomi Josette Kevorkian, 33, were arrested Friday in Fresno, a day after the FBI arrested 34-year-old Hossein Nayeri in Prague in the Czech Republic, Orange County authorities said in a statement.

Nayeri was expected to face extradition proceedings.

Another man, Kyle Shirakawa Handley, 34, was arrested in October of last year.

The four have been charged with kidnapping for ransom, aggravated mayhem, torture, burglary and a sentencing enhancement for inflicting great bodily injury. They were being held without bail and could face up to life in prison without possibility of parole if convicted, prosecutors said.

It was not immediately known whether the Kevorkians and Nayeri had obtained lawyers.

Handley pleaded not guilty to the charges last month.

“It is my hope that by bringing to justice these three additional people it will become clear that Mr. Handley was not involved in this demonic criminal enterprise,” Robert K. Weinberg, Handley’s attorney, said Friday.

Prosecutors said the victim was a prosperous medical marijuana dispensary owner who took some of his pot suppliers — including Handley — to Las Vegas last year for an extravagant weekend.

After the trip, Handley told some friends that the dispensary owner was extremely wealthy and they came up with a plan to kidnap and rob him, according to a statement from the county district attorney’s office and Newport Beach police.

Four weeks before the kidnapping, the would-be robbers began shadowing the dispensary owner, following him on frequent trips he made to the desert outside of Palm Springs.

He went out to discuss a possible investment deal, but the four wrongly believed he was driving there “to bury large amounts of cash,” according to the statement.

On Oct. 2, 2012, Handley, Nayeri and Ryan Kevorkian went to the man’s Newport Beach home, stole cash, bound and beat him and kidnapped him along with his roommate’s girlfriend, then drove them out to a desert spot in a van, authorities contend.

Throughout the drive, they allegedly burned the dispensary owner with a blowtorch.

At the spot where the men believed the victim had hidden his money, they cut off his penis, poured bleach on him in an effort to destroy any DNA evidence and dumped him and the woman on the side of the road, authorities alleged.

The three men then drove away with the penis so that it couldn’t be reattached, authorities claimed.

“The woman ran over a mile to a main road in the dark, while still bound with zip ties, and flagged down a police car,” according to the statement.

The man survived his injuries.

After the crime, Nayeri fled to Iran, where he remained for several months, prosecutors said. He was arrested in Prague while changing flights from Iran to Spain to visit family, authorities said.

CHINESE TROOPS Will Have BOOTS ON THE GROUND in AMERICA on Tuesday [W/ VIDEO]

socialist_states_of_america-CHINA-TROOPS-COMUNIST-TAKEOVER-ARTICLE-SIZEAloha Hawaiians!  If you see what you think are soldiers from the Communist Peoples Republic of China Army wandering about in your neck of the woods Tuesday through Thursday next week, your imagination is not playing tricks on you.

But don’t worry while Chinese soldiers will have boots on the ground in Hawaii, they are only really “simulating”.For the first time in history the U.S. Army will host the Communist Peoples Republic of China’s Army on American soil Nov. 12-14, 2013.

“Simulating humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to a fictional third country”.

You can’t make this stuff up whenGridEx 2 is doing it for you

Related: FEMA’s Simulated Blackout Drill

GridEx 2 (there was already a GridEx 1in November of 2011) is a massive ‘emergency drill’ planned to take place across the whole of North America with thousands of utility workers, business executives, National Guard officers, FBI antiterrorism experts and officials from government agencies, in the United States, Canada and Mexico (who) are preparing for an emergency drill in November that will simulate physical attacks and cyberattacks that could take down large sections of the power grid. (New York Times, Aug. 16, 2013).

“Fears about the possible detonation of a nuclear warhead in the skies about the United States, for the purposes of creating an electromagnetic pulse aimed at sizzling electronics on the ground, have led a number of public figures to call for significant steps to strengthen the power grid.  Ex-CIA head R. James Woolsey is planing a campaign to convince state governments to pass laws requiring utilities to harden their electronics against potential EMP attacks. The exercise is touted as a unified move “to test the resiliency of the U.S. power grid to withstand major damage causes by a natural disaster or deliberate attack”.

“A key objective of GridEx 2 is to learn how governments would handle a loss of electrical power that is large enough to drastically affect the delivery of common and essential goods and services.” (NYT)

Hoping that the U.S., Canada or Mexico aren’t GridEx 2’s “fictional third country” and that the soldiers out on reconnaissance in Blue Hawaii don’t stamp ‘Made in China’ on it.

The New York Times reported on GridEx 2’s massive, Nov. 13-14 drill on August 16,  but never mentioned the participation of the Peoples Republic of China’s Army.

China’s Xinhua Agencies kicked in on November 6 reporting that American and Chinese soldiers will train together in the November exercise.

“The US military Pacific Commander, Samuel Locklear, said here Tuesday that a joint humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise to be held this month helps improve the relationship between the United States and China.” (Xinhua Agencies, Nov. 6, 2013)

”Locklear told a news briefing that the Pacific Command’s Army component commander in Hawaii has been looking forward to the Nov. 12-14 exercises “for some time”, as the Army will host the People’s Liberation Army soldiers of China to train together in a field environment, simulating humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to a fictional third country.

“Summing up his expectations for the joint exercise, Locklear said both militaries can learn something in disaster management and “better prepare tomorrow than yesterday”.

“In relation to our ability to do this with our Chinese counterparts”, he said, “this kind ofexercise gives us a place to start, and get into the rhythm of understanding and trusting each other.”

“The joint exercise was announced during an August visit to Washington by Chinese Minister of National Defense Chang Wanquan, as China and the United States expand their military-to-military relationship and explore cooperation opportunities in non-traditional security areas.”

On August 19, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel escorted China Minister of National Defense Gen. Wanquan during an honor cordon at the Pentagon.

In a same day press conference, Gen. Wanquan said China’s military has never supported any hacker actions, expressing at the joint press conference that the cyber space is a new field and cyberspace security threats have become a world wide problem. “China is one of the major victims of hacker attacks, suffering serious threats from network attacks,” he said.

Meanwhile, let’s hope the last one out of the GridEx 2 simulation exercise turns North America’s lights back on.

China Deploys New Bomber with Long-Range Land Attack Missile

China’s military recently deployed an upgraded strategic bomber that will carry the military’s new long-range land attack cruise missile, capable of attacking Hawaii and Guam, according to a draft congressional report.

The Oct. 8 draft of the forthcoming report of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission also reveals that China has developed a new armed drone nearly identical to U.S. military’s Reaper. The Chinese missile-firing drone likely was developed through Chinese cyber espionage against U.S. defense contractors.

UK Genome Project Asks Citizens to Donate Their Genetic Code

November 7, 2013

The Personal Genome Project (PGP) has been launched to give British citizens the opportunity to hand over their genetic profiles to medical science.

Contributed information will be available to all after a firewall is installed on the database which would be “critical to scientific progress” without the stalemate provided by ethics and adherence to “traditional research practices”.

Indeed, any participant’s medical information will be online for anyone to access. Individual’s name, address and phone number will be redacted for privacy purposes; however there is no guarantee that privacy will be maintained.

The PCP is sold as a tool to aid in “precision medicine” with the use of “big datasets about individuals.”

Considering the genome is the entire genetic code of an individual, sharing this data inherently poses ethical issues and how foreknowledge of propensities to diseases would negatively affect the life of an individual.

Jane Kaye, director of the Center for Law, Health and Emerging Technologies at Oxford University commented : “We are trying to make it very clear what the risks are. This is not for everyone. We are talking about information altruists here.”

Orig.src.Susanne.Posel.Daily.News- 11genome-600

The PCP was “founded in 2005” and states they are “dedicated to creating public genome, health, and trait data” in the name of “scientific progress” and the “greater good”.

George Church, professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School initiated the PCP.

In 2012, Church announced his purpose to reconstruct Neanderthal DNA in an effort to save humanity in the event of a devastating apocalypse. Church is actively seeking a female volunteer to have a neo-Neanderthal embryo implanted into her and carry the baby to term as a surrogate mother.

454 Life Sciences first began a project to map the DNA structure of a Neanderthal woman in 2005. The Max Planck Institute funded the endeavor for more than $1 billion DNA fragments to be extracted from Neanderthal fossils to explain the genetic relationship between the two species that co-existed 100,000 years ago.

With the genetic sequencing nearly complete, this newly discovered blueprint is being hailed as a possible insight into human-like biology. The implications struck Church who is taking this discovery a step further.

He asserted that he is very interested in the idea of resurrecting the Neanderthal because “have lots of Neanderthal parts around the lab. We are creating Neanderthal cells. Let’s say someone has a healthy, normal Neanderthal baby. Well, then, everyone will want to have a Neanderthal kid. Were they super strong or super smart? Who knows? But there’s one way to find out.”

Church explains that scientists “can clone all kinds of mammals, so it’s very likely that we could clone a human. Why shouldn’t we be able to do so?” He suggests that Neanderthals could “be more intelligent than [humans].”

World’s first 3D printed metal gun unveiled (VIDEO)

Written by RT News

Published time: November 08, 2013

world__s-first-3d-printed-metal-gun-unveiled-_video__siEngineers at the Texas team of a custom manufacturing company want to make 3D printing more than a novelty, and may have accomplished just that with their latest endeavor: a high-powered, fully functioning metal handgun.

The team at Solid Concepts announced this week that that they’ve  successfully designed, printed, assembled and (accurately) fired  a 1911 pistol created using digital blueprints that were fed  through an industrial 3D printer loaded with powdered metals.

We’re proving this is possible,” Kent Firestone, Sound  Concepts’ VP of additive manufacturing, said in a statement this  week. “[T]he technology is at a place now where we can  manufacture a gun with 3D Printing.”

The world’s first open source 3D printed gun, the Liberator, made  headlines earlier this year when developers at Texas-based  Distributed Defense released their blueprints, in turn allowing  anyone with access to the Internet and a mere hobbyist model  machine to assemble a plastic firearm without even having to  leave their home. With Solid Concepts’ latest effort, however,  more advanced 3D printing fans are awarded the opportunity to  make something much more in line with traditional firearms akin  to what’s sold in stores.

It functions beautifully,” Solid Concepts claims, adding  that the company’s resident gun expert was able to hit a bull’s  eye at nearly 100 feet away with the weapon, a feat hard to  contest once someone watches a video of the weapon in action that  has been uploaded to the web.

Every component of the weapon but its springs were made using a  process called “direct metal laser sintering,” or DMLS, a 3D  printing technology that can create metal prototypes in only a  few hours by blasting those powders with an ultra-precise fiber  optic laser beam. The handgun they’ve made with DMLS technology  consists of more than 30 separate 3D-printed components that were  then hand-assembled to form a firearm that has successfully fired  dozens of rounds already, according to the company.

A blog post on the Sound Concepts website suggests the tools, such as the top-of-the-line industrial machine that fires the lasers, make it unlikely that any amateur 3D-printing enthusiasts will be able to replicate the pistol unveiled this week. The printer itself, the company acknowledged, costs tens of thousands of dollars just to acquire on its own. As 3D printing technology continues to climb in popularity and accessibility, however, soon homemade metal handguns could be created at a fraction of the current price.

When we decided to go ahead and make this gun, we weren’t  trying to figure out a cheaper, easier, better way to make a gun.  That wasn’t the point at all,” Solid Concepts’ Phillip Conner  explained in a video. “What we were trying to do was dispel  the commonly-held notion that DMLS parts are not strong enough or  accurate enough for real world applications.”

“So long sad disfigured Yoda heads, no more pretending like  that’s going to cut it for this industry,” the company jokes  on their site.

The Murder of Yasser Arafat

Yasser Arafat (Photo: Abbas Momani/ AFP)In 2004, shortly after the mysterious death of PLO leader Yasser Arafat, I wrote a column stating my strong belief that he had been murdered by poison. I recalled Stalin’s favorite line, “no man, no problem.”

Poison had been a favorite tool of the Soviet secret police since the 1920’s. Steps from KGB headquarters at the Lubyanka was the top secret laboratory known as the “kamera” where scientists concocted new, complex poisons designed to be very lethal but untraceable, or extremely hard to identify.

Numbers of Ukrainian nationalists were murdered by use of pens emitting a vapor of quick-acting cyanide gas that left the victims appearing to have died of heart attacks. Later, the kamera produced an even more lethal pellet filled with the deadly castor-bean extract, ricin. A Bulgarian defector, Georgi Markov, died after a ricin pellet was jabbed into his leg in London, the famous “umbrella murder.”

In 2009, Israeli agents of Mossad sprayed a poison liquid into the left ear of Palestinian Hamas leader, Khaled Mashall. He only escaped death when Israel was forced to provide an antidote. The US CIA had its own poison lab that was revealed by the 1975 Church Committee investigation.

Two other poisonings made use of advanced toxins:

In 2004, Ukrainian presidential candidate Viktor Yuschenko was poisoned with dioxin boosted with other adjuvants to make it extremely difficult to trace and highly toxic. Yuschenko survived thanks to German medical help, but was left terribly disfigured.

Two years later in London, a former Russian intelligence agent Alexander Litvinenko, was poisoned, the second use of polonium-210. He had become a fierce critic of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Russian intelligence was widely believed to have staged the gruesome attack as a warning to potential turncoats.

Last week, Swiss forensic scientists from the respected University of Lausanne confirmed that both Arafat’s belongings and his recently exhumed body were contaminated by radioactive polonium-210.

In spite of the lapse of four years since Arafat’s murder, the Swiss scientists found in a 108-page report a high level of polonium at least eight times higher than would be normally present. The always cautious Swiss said there was “moderate support” for the claim Arafat had indeed been murdered. While he had certainly been poisoned by polonium, they were unable to positively prove the toxin had killed him, though his dose was well beyond lethal.

The Swiss report, originally commissioned by Arafat’s wife Suha and al-Jazeera, ignited a political fire storm. Palestinians have long accused Israel of murdering Arafat. Israel’s intelligence service Mossad and warplanes have killed over a score of senior PLO leaders in the past three decades. Many attempts had been made by Israel on Arafat’s life.

Israel denies the murder, though some of its leaders have openly stated their desire to “liquidate” Arafat. Israel is the only Mideast nation that can produce polonium-210 in its reactors. Still, Israel insists it was not responsible, though no tears were shed over Arafat’s death. Israel says the culprits were Palestinian rivals.

Who benefitted from Arafat’s death? Arafat had been bitterly resisting US and Israeli efforts to impose a grossly unfair peace deal that would have broken up the West Bank into little Arab tribal reservations. Once Arafat was out of the way, the US and Israel swiftly installed a new, servile PLO leadership, headed by a yes-man, Mahmoud Abbas, financed by the US and protected by CIA-run police.

At the time of his death, Arafat had been prisoner for two years in his West Bank compound at Ramallah, surrounded by Israeli troops and tanks. A close Palestinian aid must have secreted the poison in Arafat’s food. Other senior Palestinians were also likely involved in the plot – par for the course in the Mideast. But a big finger of suspicion still points directly at the US and Israel.

France, which gave medical aid to the dying Arafat, obscured the cause of death. Russia, also examined the Arafat evidence, is making contradictory claims. Mahmoud Abbas’ government has tried to cover up the crime for years. Even Arafat’s widow initially refused an autopsy for murky reasons.

If the murder of Arafat is confirmed, Israel may be hauled into the International Criminal Court. The US will get ultimate blame.

Iraq 2013: Deadliest year since 2008 with 7,000+ killed

Written by RT News
Published time: November 08, 2013

With over 7,000 civilian casualties so far, 2013 has already become the deadliest year in Iraq since 2008. In its new project, a timeline of the violence, RT brings the sad record into the spotlight.

Following the withdrawal of US troops in December 2011, instead  of engaging in post-war and occupation recovery, Iraq has been  with each day plunging deeper into inter-ethnic violence,  prompted by ever-growing tensions mostly between the country’s  majority Shiite community and the Sunni minority.
2013 saw the situation aggravate to its worst, with almost daily  deaths of civilians becoming the harsh reality the country is  facing today.
You, I and anyone who walks in the streets, at any moment may  face a car bomb, motorcycle bomb, or explosive belt. At any  moment anyone may be killed,” a Baghdad resident sums it up  speaking to RT’s Egor Piskunov.
It’s 10 or 11 years now that they’re talking about a new  security plan, but nothing changes and the situation is only  getting worse,” another Iraqi adds.

So often are all kinds of attacks in Iraq that not all of them  eventually make it into the headlines, in a situation when a  peaceful day in Baghdad would be more likely perceived as news.
One notable example this year was on April 15, when the entire  world was glued to the screens watching the overwhelming coverage  of the Boston Marathon Bombings in which three people died and an  estimated 264 injured. That same day Iraq was rocked by a series  of bombings which killed 55 and left 300 people injured.
The much deadlier ‘black Monday’ in Iraq went virtually unnoticed by  global news outlets compared to the Boston events.
Because it is just accepted as normal for Iraq. That’s what  Iraqis do. Endure this new form of freedom,” Hamit Dardagan,  co-founder of Iraq Body Count, explained the paradox in an  interview to RT’s Laura Smith.

Iraq Body Count, founded by volunteers from the UK and the US in  2003, keeps a record of civilian casualties doing the job  government officials are reluctant to fulfill, saying is too  difficult. The group’s online database of civilian deaths is  considered one of the most reliable.
The information we get is mostly from the sort of small news  wire type reports and Iraqi media reports that don’t really make  the news an ordinary news consumer would see,” Dardagan tells  RT. “In other words it takes a research effort to pull  together these small reports that come from different parts of  the country and that list what you would think of small events of  someone being assassinated or blown up in their car.”
Violence escalated in Iraq this year following a deadly security   crackdown on a Sunni protest camp in April.  In  September – the deadliest on record so far this year – 1,220  people have died, and the trend continues.
In the latest outbreak of violence, a series of attacks killed at  least 30 people across the country on Thursday, according to  officials.
The deadliest resulted from two suicide bombers who rammed their  explosive-packed cars into a military base in the town of  Tarmiyah, killing at least 19 soldiers and wounding 41,  authorities said.
Another bomb killed four people and wounded six when pilgrims en  route to Karbala stopped at a food tent.
Prior to that a suicide bomber attacked an army post in the town  of Ana, killing three soldiers and wounding six, while another  explosion killed two persons in a town just south of Baghdad.
Two more people were killed in the city of Mosul, where police  said eight more were wounded.

The American author of ‘Blood on Our Hands: The American Invasion  and Destruction of Iraq’, Nicolas J.S. Davies, believes the  US-led operation had simply devastated the nation.

The invasion was not just some kind of mistake. The invasion  and occupation were a serious crime,” Davies told RT.   “That was a crime of aggression under the UN charter. Iraq is  still suffering from the destruction of its regime, its  government and its society by the United States. The US employed  classic divide and rule strategy pitting people of different  sects against each other, inciting violence that is completely  unprecedented in that country and now has instilled a sectarian  based government. And this is just a reign of terror. And in that  sense some of the worst aspects of the US occupation are still  continuing today.”

Violence between Shia and Sunni is resulting in a humanitarian  crisis. The United Nations estimates that the conflict led to 1.1  million of Iraqis becoming internally displaced persons (IDPs) in  the country, which has witnessed more than 115,000 deaths in 10  years.
The Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri Maliki, spoke late October of how  drastic the situation in the country has become.
It has become clear… Iraq has become subjected to a war of  genocide by terrorists, targeting all spheres of life,”   Maliki said.           Last week, he met with President Obama. The two leaders agreed  Iraq was in urgent need of help. But besides general statements  nothing definite came out – such as how to save people’s lives on  the ground

US Navy admirals under investigation in widening bribery scandal

navy-admirals-investigation-widening-bribery_siTwo Navy admirals have been placed on temporary leave after their access to classified materials was suspended. This comes as part of a growing investigation into allegations that Naval officers illegally accepted bribes from a military contractor.

Vice Adm. Ted Branch, director of naval intelligence, and Rear  Adm. Bruce Loveless, director of intelligence operations, were  reported on Friday to be part of an ongoing probe after they were  each accused of having illegal and improper relations with  Leonard Francis, CEO of Glenn Defense Marine.

The suspension was deemed prudent given the sensitive nature  of their current duties and to protect and support the integrity  of the investigative process,” a Navy statement  announced.

The allegations against Admirals Branch and Loveless involve  inappropriate conduct prior to their current assignments and flag  office rank. There is no indication, nor to the allegations  suggest, that in either case there was any breach of classified  information.”

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) began its  investigation in 2010. While a Navy spokesman maintained neither  has been charged with a crime or service violation, the US  attorney’s office in San Diego, California has charged Loveless  and Branch with passing along classified information, according  to the Washington Post.

Branch and Loveless join Commanders Jose Luiz Sanchez, Michael  Vannak Khem Misiewiz, and NCIS Supervisory Special Agent John  Beliveau as subjects of the NCIS investigation into corruption  and bribery at the Navy’s Singapore outpost.

Each of the three senior officials have been arrested because of  their alleged dealings with the man known as “Fat Leonard.”   Prosecutors say the Malaysian businessman used his personal  connections to bribe Navy officers with prostitutes, luxury  travel accommodations, Lady Gaga concert tickets, and $100,000,  among others.

Leonard is accused of using these favors to persuade officers  into providing insight on upcoming law enforcement probes and  contract reviews. He is especially known for the lavish Christmas  parties he has thrown every year, decorating his 70,000 Singapore  home with decorations so outlandish that spectators would  visit.

He’s a larger-than-life figure,” retired Rear Adm. Terry  McKnight told Fox News. “You talk to any captain on any ship  that has sailed in the Pacific and they will know exactly who he  is.”

Francis and Glenn Defense Marine are also accused of defrauding  the Navy out of more than $10 million by overcharging for fuel,  tugboats, docking, sewage disposal, and many other  services.

It’s pretty big when you have one person who can dictate  where ships are going to go and being influenced by a  contractor,” McKnight said. “A lot of people are saying  how could this happen?”

Sanchez and Misiewicz are believed to have begun notifying Glenn  Defense Marine of Navy ship activity in 2009 and continuing to do  so until April of this year. Beliveau is accused of ferrying  information to Francis even after the Navy investigation started  and may have given “Fat Leonard” advice on how to answer  questions.

Misiewicz was already well-known before he was apprehended by law  enforcement. As a child the future Navy Cmdr. was rescued from a  violent region of Cambodia and given a new life by an American  woman. His emotional return to the region in 2010 was the subject  of international media coverage.

Yet prosecutors say Francis was already reengaged in a heated  recruitment effort with Misiewicz in his sights. Misiewicz  allegedly accepted tickets to a theater production of “The Lion  King” in Tokyo and was soon referring to Francis as “Big Brother”   in personal emails.

The charged defendants could be sentenced to five years in prison  if found guilty of conspiracy to commit bribery. Francis is being  held without bail.

Exactly how Loveless and Branch may have known Francis is not  clear, but both officers had stints in the Pacific during their  careers. Branch previously served as assistant to the commander  of the Pacific fleet before he was promoted to vice admiral in  February. Loveless held a command position at the Joint  Intelligence Operations Center at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii from 2009  to 2012.

The Washington Post previously reported that the Navy terminated  $200 million in contracts with the company in September of this  year.
